On August 31, AdvaMed submitted a letter to CMS’s Request for Information (RFI) on Medicare regarding ways to strengthen the Medicare Advantage (MA) program to align with the Vision for Medicare and CMS’ Strategic Pillars. As MA plans play an increasingly vital role in ensuring Medicare beneficiaries have access to medically necessary covered services, AdvaMed believes it is imperative CMS ensure the services provided by MA plans appropriately align with traditional Medicare coverage. In our letter, AdvaMed provided key input on ways CMS can work to prevent inappropriate denials of services resulting from the use of prior authorization programs and ensure the programs are advancing health equity.
