AdvaMed Advocates for Policy Updates in Advance of Annual Rulemaking on Hospital Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgical Center Payment
On February 25, in advance of annual rulemaking, AdvaMed submitted a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding coverage and payment policies addressed under the Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) and Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Payment System. In this letter, AdvaMed advocated for updates to OPPS and ASC Payment System policies to ensure appropriate reimbursement for procedures using medical technologies, including refinements to the Transitional Pass-Through Payment (TPT) program and considerations for incorporating digital health technology into these payment systems. AdvaMed met with CMS on March 30 to discuss these policy recommendations.
