AdvaMed Advocates for Policy Updates in Advance of Annual Rulemaking on Hospital Inpatient Payment

On February 4, in advance of annual rulemaking, AdvaMed submitted a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding coverage and payment policies addressed under the Hospital Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS). In this letter, AdvaMed urged CMS to use the notice-and-comment rulemaking process for all changes to MS-DRG assignments and reiterated previous recommendations for improvements to the New Technology Add-On Payment (NTAP) Program.
