On September 6, AdvaMed submitted a letter to CMS on the Calendar Year 2023 Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) proposed rule. AdvaMed advocated for a wide array of technology-specific policies, including improving remote therapeutic monitoring coding; addressing the growth of digital health services and related coding and coverage needs, especially in the context of needed changes to Medicare’s methodology for attributing value to various components of practice expenses; and extending many of the telehealth and remote services waivers granted in response to the COVID-19 public health emergency. In addition, AdvaMed urged CMS to ensure greater payment stability under the PFS following multiple years of significant payment changes.
