AdvaMed Advocates for Policy Updates in Advance of Annual Rulemaking on Physician Payment

On March 2, AdvaMed submitted a letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regarding coverage and payment policies addressed under the Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) in anticipation of upcoming Calendar Year 2023 rulemaking. In this letter, AdvaMed advocated for a wide array of technology-specific policies, including improving remote therapeutic monitoring coding; addressing the growth of digital health services and related coding and coverage needs; and extending many of the telehealth and remote services waivers granted in response to the COVID-19 public health emergency. In addition, AdvaMed urged CMS to ensure greater payment stability under the PFS following multiple years of significant payment changes.
