AdvaMed Advocates for Policy Updates in Advance of Annual Rulemaking on End-Stage Renal Disease Payment

On March 8, in advance of CMS’ release of the proposed End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Prospective Payment System (PPS) rule, AdvaMed submitted a letter focused on coverage and payment policies for ESRD patients. AdvaMed urged the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to address barriers to patient dialysis modality choice, increase the use of telehealth and remote monitoring for ESRD patients, and refine the Transitional Payment for Innovative Equipment and Supplies (TPNIES) Program. Additionally, AdvaMed met with CMS on April 6 to discuss these policy recommendations and opportunities for collaboration with the Agency on policy development.
