AdvaMed Statement on President Biden’s Cancer Moonshot Update

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed), the world’s largest trade association representing medical device manufacturers, released the following statement from President and CEO Scott Whitaker in response to President Joe Biden’s Cancer Moonshot initiative:

“Since President Biden’s reignition of the Cancer Moonshot earlier this year, AdvaMed and our members have committed to working alongside the Administration to achieve our shared goal of ending cancer as we know it. As a leading industry on this critical issue, we have offered our insight and expertise to the Administration as they chart the right public policies and investments to achieve this mission. We are encouraged by the President’s update on the Cancer Moonshot initiative, and we look forward to continue working together on behalf of the patients we serve.”

Following President Biden’s announcement earlier this year to reignite the White House Cancer Moonshot, Whitaker sent a letter in support of the announcement and enlisting the medtech industry in the effort. AdvaMed member companies produce the medical devices, diagnostic tests, and health information systems that screen for, diagnose, and treat cancer.
