AdvaMed, Medtech Industry Commend Senate on Passage of CHIPS Act
WASHINGTON – Today, Scott Whitaker, President and CEO of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) thanked bipartisan leaders in the Senate for their work to pass the CHIPS Act, a bill that includes $52 billion in investments and incentives to bolster domestic manufacturing of semiconductor chips.
“Today’s bipartisan vote in the Senate to pass the CHIPS Act is a welcome step forward on this critical issue. The pandemic and recent events have shown us just how important it is for our country to have a strong domestic manufacturing base for semiconductor chips and other component parts that our medical device manufacturers need to continue delivering and developing lifesaving technologies. The investments made in this legislation will provide our industry with the long-term support needed to continue serving patients. We urge the House of Representatives to move swiftly to get this legislation over the finish line and to the President’s desk.”
