AdvaMed Hires Shaye Mandle to Lead Digital Health Center

WASHINGTON, D.C. – This week, the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed), the world’s largest trade association representing medical device manufacturers, announced the hiring of Shaye Mandle as the new Executive Director of the Center for Digital Health.

“I am pleased to welcome former Medical Alley CEO and COO of BIO Shaye Mandle to AdvaMed as Executive Director of our Center for Digital Health,” said Scott Whitaker, AdvaMed President and CEO. “The medtech industry is at the forefront of a new era of care, with ever-evolving digital technologies paving the way for new health care innovations at breakneck speed. In his new role, Shaye will be working with our members and the patients and clinicians they serve to expand access to these digital health technologies.”

“I am thrilled to be joining such an exceptional organization,” Shaye Mandle said. “With the future of health care being defined by AdvaMed members, it is an honor to work with them on advancing the landscape and promise of digital health innovation.”

Before joining AdvaMed, Mandle served as a health care association executive, including as President & Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Alley Association (MAA) and as Chief Operating Officer of the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO). Mandle also served as the Chair of the State MedTech Alliance (SMTA) for the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed).

Mandle holds a JD, cum laude, from the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University and a BA in political science and history from Illinois Wesleyan University. AdvaMed’s Center for Digital Health was established in 2019 to build on the success of the association’s Digital Health Sector, which was established in 2016 to serve the unique needs of companies in the burgeoning digital health space. The Center for Digital Health addresses an ever-broadening set of issues that cut across industries – some of which are new to the health care arena – and a wide-ranging set of technologies and data uses that are increasingly pervasive across the medtech industry and in health care.

As a thought leader and convener, the Center for Digital Health includes a wide range of medical and digital technology companies that are leveraging health care data and technology innovation to enable new insights, support health and wellness, improve patient interventions and outcomes, and enhance the quality and efficiency of health care delivery.
