In Search of Extraordinary Nominees for the 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award

Thanks to advancements in medical technology, Americans added five years of life expectancy from 1980 to 2017. Patients decreased hospital days by 60 percent. Fatalities from heart disease, stroke and breast cancer decreased by more than half over the past 30 years.

The medtech industry is responsible for nearly two million jobs in the United States, including both direct and indirect employment. Medical technology directly accounts for nearly 519,000 U.S. jobs.

Behind those remarkable health outcomes and employment statistics are people. In every state, from tiny start-ups to multinational companies, medtech professionals are creating the innovative products that lead to better diagnostics, more sterile equipment, less invasive procedures, and much more that brings good health and relief to patients every day.

Many of these professionals make medtech their permanent field. Saving and improving lives become a vocation and an avocation. When they retire from one organization, these passionate experts move into a different role elsewhere, serving on a board or guiding the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.

They often work quietly. The outcome is what matters, not glory.

While they don’t draw attention to themselves, with your help, AdvaMed will do it for them. After years of making a difference, they deserve celebration and recognition. Their work has earned a wider audience to inspire those in the field and future entrepreneurs and innovators to come.

Do you know a medtech professional who has long sustained industry leadership, had a deep impact on patient care, mentored up-and-coming colleagues, and made many other contributions to our industry?

Please consider nominating the individual – or even more than one – for AdvaMed’s prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.

We welcome nominations for our tenth annual Lifetime Achievement Award until Thursday, March 31, 2022. We’ll present the award at The Medtech Conference in Boston in October.
