The Virtual Medtech Conference Begins Three Days of Livestream Events

 Day 1 Highlights Include Fireside Chat with FDA Commissioner Hahn, CMS Town Hall  

WASHINGTON, D.C.– The Virtual Medtech Conference, powered by AdvaMed, kicks off three days of livestream events tomorrow with morning to afternoon sessions featuring an international perspective on the COVID-19 pandemic, a look at the next generation of U.S. voters, a fireside chat with FDA Commissioner Hahn, a discussion on diversity and health care disparities, and insights from key CMS officials.

Livestream content begins at 8:00 am ET with a CEOs Unplugged session A Future Outlook on Medtech Innovation with top executives from Ximedica, J&J’s Ethicon Division and Cleveland Clinic Ventures.

At 8:30 am ET we present Medtech and the Next Pandemic with Australian Associate Secretary Department of Health Caroline Edwards and Swedish Minister for Health & Social Affairs The Honourable Lena Hallengren. 

At 9:30 am ET there will be a Q&A with Tim Ring, Co-Founder/Co-Chairman of TEAMFund.

The Selfie Vote starts at 10:00 am ET with an interview with Kristen Soltis Anderson, pollster, speaker, commentator, and author of “The Selfie Vote: Where Millennials Are Leading America (And How Republicans Can Keep Up).”

 At 11:10 am ET, we begin a Three-Part Plenary Session featuring: 

Following the plenary session, at 1:00 pm ET, top executives from Abbott, Danaher and Hologic participate in the session, Diagnostics Industry Mobilization to Meet COVID-19 Testing Needs; Assist Policy Makers with Testing Supply Registry.

Global Regulatory Convergence – The Next Frontier begins at 2:15 pm ET, featuring an international regulatory panel consisting of: FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health Director Dr. Jeff Shuren; Health Canada’s David Boudreau, Director General, Medical Devices Directorate; Augusto Geyer, Senior Advisor of the Medical Devices Office for the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency – ANVISA; and Melissa Torres, FDA CDRH Associate Director for International Affairs.

At 3:30 pm ET the day’s final plenary session, a CMS Town Hall, features CMS’s Tamara Syrek Jensen, Director, Coverage and Analysis Group; Carol Blackford Director, Hospital and Ambulatory Policy Group; and Jason Bennett, Acting Director, Technology Coding and Pricing Group.
