AdvaMed Comments on Ukraine, Offers Resources to Those Seeking to Contribute Medical Supplies, Other Aid

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed), the world’s leading trade organization representing medical technology and device companies, released the following statement from President and CEO Scott Whitaker:

“AdvaMed and our member companies join the rest of the world in condemning the actions that have resulted in such devastation and loss of human life in Ukraine. We are committed to mobilizing our industry to help those who are suffering as a result of this invasion. As we consider how to help those affected by this humanitarian crisis, both in Ukraine and in the surrounding area, AdvaMed is working with the U.S. government and NGOs to better assess the need for medical supplies and to help coordinate the distribution of these critical items. We have tremendous empathy for the Ukrainian people and are committed to doing all we can to alleviate the tragic suffering that has resulted from this war.”

AdvaMed is tracking U.S. government information on the medical supplies needed in Ukraine. Member companies and their employees, including many outside the medtech industry, have expressed eagerness to help. AdvaMed created the following resource list on its website for those seeking ways to contribute medical supplies, work with charitable organizations, and/or provide other types of aid: advamed.org/ukraine.
