AdvaMed Applauds Industry Leadership and Legacy Of BD’s Vince Forlenza Congratulates Tom Polen On Ascension to Top Spot at BD
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Scott Whitaker, president and CEO of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) issued the following statement on BD’s announcement today that Vincent A. Forlenza, BD chairman and CEO, will retire as CEO in January 2020:
“Vince is a tremendous leader and great friend and mentor to me, starting when I became CEO of AdvaMed and he was chairman of our board. Strategic and thoughtful, always focused on how BD can better serve patients, Vince’s example has made him a luminary in our industry and I have no doubt his legacy will be felt for years to come.
“I congratulate Tom as he takes on this big opportunity to lead BD. No one is better prepared to build on Vince’s legacy and forge one of his own. I look forward to working with him at AdvaMed.”
Vince Forlenza served as chairman of the AdvaMed Board of Directors from December 2014 until March 2017. Forlenza has served on both the AdvaMed Board and its Executive Committee since 2010. For information about key milestones during Vince’s chairmanship of the association, please click here.
