Investing in Women’s Health Products and Companies

Terri leads Intuitive Ventures’ investment strategy & platform by guiding investments that transform care. She scales impact across global medtech and digital health markets, collaborating with portfolio companies to support innovations that address significant unmet clinical needs and next horizon challenges in healthcare. Terri has cultivated 30 years of strategic expertise working across corporations, start-ups and investment firms, including Epidarex Capital’s Fund III US/UK, Protaryx Medical, Edwards Lifesciences, Guidant Corporation and Covance Health Economics & Outcomes Services.

She is a Trustee for the Roessler-Chadwick Foundation, an early member of MedtechWOMEN and has served on multiple startup boards. She holds a BS in Biology from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Southern California. 

Amy Degenkolb is an engineer, co-founder, and CEO of Novocuff, where she leads the company’s efforts to improve outcomes in maternal health. Since 2012, she has focused her career on developing medical technologies for women, motivated by the need to address an area of medicine that has historically received limited investment and attention. As a lead engineer on the JADA System for postpartum hemorrhage, she contributed to a technology addressing one of the leading causes of maternal mortality. That experience reinforced her commitment to advancing meaningful innovation in women’s and maternal health.

Odayme Quesada is a board-certified cardiologist, clinician-scientist, and Medical Director of the Women’s Heart Center at The Christ Hospital Health Network. She holds the Ginger Warner Endowed Chair in Women’s Cardiovascular Health and is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of
Cincinnati College of Medicine. Dr. Quesada’s earned both her MD and MHS degrees from Yale University School of Medicine, followed by an internal medicine residency at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and cardiovascular medicine fellowship and an NIH T32 postdoctoral cardiovascular
research fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Quesada’s clinical and research interests focus on cardiovascular disease in women, including angina and myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteries (ANOCA/MINOCA), coronary microvascular and vasomotor dysfunction, and sexspecific cardiovascular risk factors. She leads multiple clinical trials and research programs aimed at improving the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cardiovascular disease in women.

Lisa Suennen has spent over 35 years as venture capitalist, entrepreneur, operating executive, strategy consultant and board director. She has worked extensively across tech-enabled services, digital health, medical devices, and diagnostics.

Lisa is Managing Partner of American Heart Association Ventures, a platform of venture funds focused on cardiovascular and brain health, including Go Red for Women, Cardeation Capital, the Social Impact Fund and Studio Red.

Lisa previously held multiple venture fund leadership roles (Psilos Group, GE Ventures, Manatt Ventures) and executive roles at Canary Medical, Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, and Merit Behavioral Care, where she was instrumental in driving company growth from startup through IPO and acquisition. Lisa was founding CEO of CSweetener, which mentors rising female healthcare leaders (sold to HLTH Foundation). 

Lisa chairs Australia’s ANDHealth’s International Investment Committee and serves on the advisory boards of Nina Capital and PROOF VC.  She is a National Advisor for Manatt Health and a Fellow of the Aspen Institute’s Health Innovators Fellowship and is on faculty at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business.
