Awards

AdvaMed® ’s Lifetime Achievement Award is the signature award for the medtech industry. Since 2013, AdvaMed® has annually recognized an extraordinary individual who has had a noteworthy influence on the medtech and the patients it serves. This award recognizes individuals from across the ecosystem who have continuously displayed commitment, promoted progress, and were a catalyst for positive change in the medtech industry.

Nominees for AdvaMed®’s Lifetime Achievement Award should be outstanding and exemplary individuals who have made meaningful and prolonged contributions to the medical technology industry. Eligible candidates must be retired from their day-to-day medtech industry responsibilities (and no longer be serving as the board chair for their signature employer) for at least one full calendar year. The award judging criteria are as follows:

Nominees are assessed and weighed using the following criteria:

• Philanthropy, community service, community leadership
• Length of career and years of demonstrative industry leadership 
• Contributions to AdvaMed® and/or the industry as an advocate for sound legislation, regulation, and public awareness of medical technology
• Impact on patient care
• Commitment to mentoring and career development
• Significant role in medical discovery/commercialization and actions that have led to the introduction of medtech innovation
• History of entrepreneurship, supporting entrepreneurship and/or a supportive role in medtech capital formation and the medtech ecosystem

The AdvaMedDx Lifetime of Leadership & Service award is presented annually to an individual whose contributions have deeply advanced patient care, set a standard of leadership, and tirelessly advocated for sound diagnostic policy. Established in 2025, the first recipient was Charles “Chuck” Fleischman. The recipient will be announced in late Summer and the award is presented at the third quarterly AdvaMedDx Board meeting held during The MedTech Conference,

Nominees are assessed and weighed using the following criteria:

1. Lifetime of contributions that have deeply shaped the diagnostic industry 
2. Significant history of advocating for sound legislation and regulation
3. Deep and positive impact on advancing patient care
4. Demonstrative commitment to mentoring and career development 
5. Championing diagnostic commercialization and the introduction of new diagnostics  
6. Supporting entrepreneurship and investments in the diagnostic ecosystem 
7. Exemplary philanthropy, community service, and community leadership

The AdvaMed Imaging Röntgen Award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to the medical imaging industry. Named for the father of medical imaging, Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, the award celebrates pioneers and leaders within the Medical Imaging industry and AdvaMed Imaging Division. The 2026 recipient will be announced in the Summer with the award presented in conjunction with The MedTech Conference.

Nominees are assessed and weighed using the following criteria:

1. Significant service by a mid-level medical imaging company employee that has deeply impacted the broader medical imaging industry 
2. Significant voluntary role in advocating for and promoting the growth and development of medical imaging
3. Actions that have had a substantial impact on advancing medical imaging
4. Championing medical imaging and improving the environment that fosters the introduction of new imaging technologies
