AdvaMed President & CEO Provides COVID-19 Update on Bloomberg Radio
Scott Whitaker, AdvaMed’s President & CEO, recently joined host David Westin on Bloomberg Radio’s “Balance of Power” program to provide a national audience with an update on how the medical technology (Medtech) industry has mobilized to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
Whitaker shared the latest industry-wide efforts being made to ramp-up production of personal protection equipment, diagnostic tests, and ventilators destined for the nation’s public health frontlines. This includes leading Medtech companies working with the auto sector to increase production capacity, while effectively managing global supply chains to provide uninterrupted access for patients and health care providers to crucial devices and diagnostics.
Whitaker and Westin also discussed the daily coordination taking place between federal authorities and the industry to not only ensure that surging equipment demands are being met, but that the distribution of those resources is targeting those areas where the needs are most urgent.
