With Senate Passage of Device Tax Repeal, “Patients Are the Real Winners Here Today”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – AdvaMed President and CEO Scott Whitaker today released the following statement on Senate passage of full repeal of the medical device excise tax:

“On behalf of the entire medtech industry and the patients we serve, we thank the Senate for passing legislation to repeal the medical device excise tax once and for all. Without the leadership of Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, as well as that of Sen. Pat Toomey and all the cosponsors of the device tax repeal legislation, the industry would be facing massive job losses and cuts to the very research and development we need to save and improve patients’ lives. Patients are the real winners here today.
