U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) offers a powerful—and perhaps underutilized—tool to help manufacturers stop infringing goods at the border: the trademark and copyright e Recordation program. This webinar will provide a practical, medtech focused overview of how to record intellectual property with CBP to unlock border enforcement, how CBP evaluates and acts on suspected infringing shipments, and how companies can partner with CBP to strengthen real time interdiction efforts and protect patients and innovation.
What You’ll Learn
- Understand how CBP e-Recordation enables enforcement: Explain the difference between IP registration and CBP recordation, and why recordation is required for CBP to detain and seize infringing imports.
- Implement effective recordation strategies: Identify what types of IP to record, what information CBP needs to act, and how to maintain recordations to maximize protection across global supply chains.
- Prepare for enforcement scenarios: Describe how CBP identifies, detains, and adjudicates suspected infringing goods, including grey market/parallel imports. As well as how manufacturers can support enforcement and respond to importer challenges.
