XINING, CHINA – The Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) and the Xining Municipal People’s Government concluded a successful three-day Healthcare Industry Globalization and Development Forum in Sofitel Xining.
Held, Aug. 1-3, the Forum was convened to explore the globalization potential for the Xining health care companies and the future of the Chinese medical technology industry.
More than 100 participants attended, including government officials, representatives from domestic and global health care enterprises, heads of municipal and county hospitals, and other industry experts. Distinguished guests included Governor of Xining Wang Xiao, Vice Mayor of Xining Wang Tong, DDG Zhang Yuzhong of MOFCOM, and officials of the Department of Consumer Goods Industry, MIIT.
“This event will facilitate the overseas expansion for Chinese medical companies and also provide an opportunity for AdvaMed members and Chinese local companies to have a clear understanding of China health care development plans in the future, especially concerning medical technology,” said Ralph Ives, executive vice president, Global Strategy and Analysis, AdvaMed. “This event is a platform to strengthen ties among all stakeholders, including the government, health care companies, medical institutions, patients and industry associations, to help improve patients’ access to medical devices and diagnostic solutions in China and around the world more efficiently.”

The Forum is an outgrowth of last year’s strategic cooperation framework agreement between AdvaMed and the People’s Government of Xining Municipality, which is designed to encourage and promote health care and scientific research, cooperation and exchanges between international medical technology companies and Xining, an important city rapidly developing into a health care R&D hub in the northwestern region of China.
