AdvaMed Statement on “Innovation for Healthier Americans” Report

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Stephen J. Ubl, president and CEO of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed), issued the following statement today on the release of the report “Innovation for Healthier Americans” from Senators Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) and Richard Burr (R-N.C.):

“AdvaMed would like to commend Sens. Alexander and Burr for their leadership on this important issue. We share their goal of improving the efficiency and predictability of processes at both NIH and FDA to ensure patients have timely access to the latest medical advancements.

“We look forward to reviewing the details of today’s report and to providing feedback on ways to modernize the innovation ecosystem for medical technology. We also look forward to working with members in both the Senate and House as they examine the challenges facing the current medical technology development process and what policy solutions are needed to better support medical innovation in the U.S.”
