AdvaMed Praises House Vote on R&D Tax Credit
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) issued the following statement from JC Scott, senior executive vice president, government affairs, on today’s vote in the U.S. House of Representatives to make permanent the research and development tax credit:
“AdvaMed commends the House for voting to make permanent the research and development tax credit, which will encourage R&D work here in America. R&D is the lifeblood for innovation and a critical element to growth and maintaining America’s leadership in the medtech sector.
“As Congress takes up additional legislation to address America’s tax code, it remains essential this effort include repeal of the medical device tax. Chairman Camp (R-Mich.) included repeal of this onerous tax as an element of his fundamental tax reform plan. We encourage Congress to act now to put a stop to this job-killing policy.”
