AdvaMed EGCC Becomes AdvaMed Accel

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Advanced Medical Technology Association’s (AdvaMed’s) Emerging Growth Company Council (EGCC) is being rebranded as “AdvaMed Accel.” The association’s board of directors formally approved the name change during its quarterly meeting March 31.

“Smaller, emerging growth companies and start-ups are the lifeblood of medical technology innovation – accelerating new treatments and cures to patients, delivering cost-savings to health care systems, and driving American job creation,” said AdvaMed Accel Board Chairman Nadim Yared, president and CEO of CVRx. “The change to ‘AdvaMed Accel’ reflects the dynamic and entrepreneurial nature of these companies, and the association’s commitment to doing all we can to accelerate their growth and success.”

“Patients around the world are facing serious health challenges that can be diagnosed, treated and even cured with advanced medical technologies. To deliver the full promise of these companies, we must have a policy environment that supports innovation and growth,” said Ashley Wittorf, executive director, AdvaMed Accel.

“With a dedicated board of directors and executive committee composed of CEOs from small companies, a tailored advocacy agenda, and the experience and resources of the world’s largest medical technology association, AdvaMed Accel is committed to meeting the unique needs of smaller medtech entrepreneurs,” Wittorf added. “With this new brand, we are underscoring our commitment to being the leading industry voice for these companies.”
