 AdvaMed’s Pride Leadership Network is proud to host You’ve Started an ERG, Now What? in collaboration with AdvaMed’s Women Executive Network (WEN) this June. Join a panel of experienced Employee Resource Group (ERG) leaders and participants and hear firsthand accounts of experiencing the lifepath of an ERG. Continuing our 2022 discussion on the importance of creating an effective and inclusive LGBTQ+ employee resource group, this webinar aims to provide tangible examples and case studies for the development and maintenance of an ERG.  We encourage you to submit any pressing questions about ERG’s that you want our panelists to answer during registration. Sign up now to learn how you can help create a more inclusive medtech community. Ben Redgell, Social Media Manager, BD

Ben has been with BD for seven years and has leveraged his passion for communications and culture through a number of roles in digital marketing and social media. Ben is part of the BD Corporate Communications team, responsible for driving BD’s social media strategy across a variety of platforms while also leading BD’s social media advocacy program. Ben’s personal and professional development is intricately linked; when Ben joined BD he hadn’t yet come out as gay. Today, Ben serves as the global co-lead for the Out & Proud Employee Network (OPEN) at BD, and through his two years of leadership, has more than doubled the size of BD’s LGBTQ+ ERG, expanding from one to four regions, while driving and embedding a plethora of initiatives in pursuit of OPEN’s mission of embracing and inspiring the LGBTQ+ community both within and outside BD.

John Eavin McPherson, Senior Design Quality Engineer, Boston Scientific

John began his career in medical device quality and regulatory 10 years ago at Smiths Medical, where he formerly served as the Global Lead of the company’s LGBTQ+ ERG and sat on the Global Council for DE&I. Currently, he works in safety/risk engineering for Boston Scientific and is a member of their LGBTQ+ ERG, called Promoting Respect, Inclusion, Diversity and Equality (PRIDE). For the last year, John has also sat on the Board of Directors for OutFront Minnesota, the state’s largest LGBTQ+ advocacy organization.

Rebecca Rehm, Director, Compliance Officer, Olympus

Rebecca Rehm is an ethics and compliance business leader in MedTech with a passion for diversity and inclusion. She is currently a compliance officer at Olympus Corporation of the Americas where she has been supporting the commercial medical device businesses since 2017. Prior to Olympus, she spent five years at the Ethics & Compliance Initiative where she consulted for Fortune Global 500 companies under DPAs and CIAs. For the previous seven years, she managed the professional education programs at a genetics center at Mass General Brigham. Rebecca is currently co-chair of the AdvaMed Pride Leadership Network, co-lead of the LGBTQ employee resource group at Olympus, a sub-group chair of the Ethics & Compliance Initiative’s Working Group on Racism, Discrimination and Abuse of Power, and a frequent speaker on diversity and inclusion. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology with a concentration in neuroscience from Williams College, a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Brown University and is a certified Leadership Professional in Ethics & Compliance. She lives outside Boston with her wife and their three kids.

Shelly Teter, Regional Sales Director & Co-Chair, Women inRhythm Resource Group, iRhythm Technologies, Inc.

Shelly Teter is a Regional Sales Director for iRhythm Technologies.  She oversees the sales strategy and execution for a team of seven sales professionals in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, DC and Southern New Jersey.  Prior to joining iRhythm in 2019, she held several leadership positions at McKesson Medical-Surgical, Mylan Pharmaceuticals and Wells Fargo Financial.  Being employed in the healthcare sector for over 15 years, Shelly has developed a deep passion for ensuring equitable care and treatment for all.  She’s a firm believer that small, simple acts of kindness can have massive impacts. Combining her passion for helping others with her expertise in building high performing teams, Shelly partnered with a team of like-minded female leaders to develop and bring to life iRhythm’s first ERG  Women inRhythm in 2021.  Women inRhythm is a fundamental resource to assist iRhythm with building and maintaining a work environment that supports the growth and development of females at all levels of the organization.  The ERG strives to create an environment for collaboration, dialogue and practice to further promote women in leadership and to build an alliance among all employees in the workplace to create a stronger overall organization.
