Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, AdvaMed
Kenneth Mendez is Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed).
His primary responsibilities include oversight of the Association’s business operations, including membership, finance and accounting, human resources, and information technology, as well as AdvaMed’s Medical Technology Learning Institute.
Prior to joining AdvaMed’s staff in February 2006, Mendez was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Trout Unlimited, Inc., the country’s largest conservation organization dedicated to conserving and protecting trout and salmon. He directed the group’s membership growth from 55,000 to more than 150,000 and its annual budget from $2 million to more than $20 million.
Earlier in his career, Mendez worked in the entertainment business and on Wall Street. After receiving his MBA, he worked at The Walt Disney Company’s Consumer Products Division, where he served in the direct marketing and magazine publishing businesses. Before that, Mendez worked as an associate in the Asia Pacific Investment Banking Group of Merrill Lynch Capital Markets and as an analyst in the Corporate Finance Group at Credit Suisse First Boston.
Mendez graduated from Harvard College with an A.B. degree in American History and American Art. He earned his MBA in Marketing and International Business from Columbia Business School.
His volunteer activities include serving as Vice Chairman of the Board of The National Asian Pacific Center on Aging, Co-chair of the Washington, D.C. Harvard Schools Committee, and coach of an Arlington, VA Babe Ruth baseball team.
He lives in Arlington with his wife and three sons.
