Value of Medical Technology Comes to Capitol Hill

AdvaMed hosted its third Capitol Hill exhibition on June 17 as part of its continuing “Value of Medical Technology” public awareness program. More than 350 people attended the event, The Wide, Wide World of Progress, including 167 congressional and committee staff representing nearly 75 congressional offices. Celebrity guests and football legends Terry Bradshaw and Mike Ditka shared their stories of how medical technology has helped them and their family members maintain their active lifestyles. The NFL Hall of Famers delighted the crowd with anecdotes of their playing days and discussed how early and more accurate diagnoses are keeping today’s professional athletes safer. Emcee and entertainment icon Regis Philbin also was eloquent and passionate about how patients everyday are benefiting tremendously from advanced medical technologies. The exhibition also featured displays from more than 30 AdvaMed member companies on the latest lifesaving and life-enhancing innovations.
